When we do this challenge of rocking some color during the whole week, is because we believe any color can look fabulous when placed perfectly. And black is no exception!

Black is associated with power, fear, mystery, strength, authority, elegance, formality, death, evil, and aggression, authority, rebellion, and sophistication. Black is required for all other colors to have depth and variation of hue.
The black color is the absence of color. Black is a mysterious color that is typically associated with the unknown or the negative. The color black represents strength, seriousness, power, and authority. Black is a formal, elegant, and prestigious color. Authoritative and powerful, the color black can evoke strong emotions and too much black can be overwhelming.
One recent study on color preference in adults found that out of 18 total colors, including no preference, black ranked number 13 as adults’ favorite color overall. However, when it comes to clothing, black was ranked as the number one favorite color for both genders combined.
In marketing and branding psychology, black is associated with boldness, formality, mystery, strength, luxuriousness, and seriousness. Famous brands that utilize black in their logos and marketing are Blackberry, Tiffany & Co., Apple, Disney, Nike, Gillette, Adidas, Sony, Ralph Lauren, and MTV. Besides being sleek, black is versatile and can be combined with any other color.
One of the most popular design trends currently is the monochromatic color palette. A white and bright interior, playing off of Scandinavian design trends, can be seen all over Pinterest and in design magazines. Personally, we need more interest in the home decor than pure white, so incorporating black in interior design is an easy way to break up an otherwise neutral color palette.
There are so many ways of incorporating black in your home without even look dark and scary! There’s only so much you can do!
