The Nancy Lighting Family is inspired by one of the greatest jazz singers of all time, Nancy Wilson, the American singer whose career lasted over five decades, beginning in mid-1950’s until her retirement in the early 2010’s. Nancy Wilson recorded over 70 albums and won three Grammy Awards for her notable work. She became popular for her single “(You Don’t Know) How Glad I Am” and her version of the standard “Guess Who I Saw Today“.
Beside being a jazz, soul, blues and R&B singer, Nancy Wilson was also an actress, that’s why she is called by many “the complete entertainer”. On December 13, 2018, Wilson died at her home in Pioneertown, California. She was 81 years old. To honor the honorable career and unforgettable music, Nancy Lighting Family was born.
