Jake Hanna was an American jazz drummer that was born on April 4, 1931, and passed away on February 12, 2010. Hanna first performed in his home town of Boston. He was the house drummer at Storyville for a number of years in the 1950s and 1960s.
He played with Toshiko Akiyoshi in 1957, Maynard Ferguson in 1958, Marian McPartland, and Woody Herman’s Orchestra from 1962 until 1964. He appears with the Mort Lindsey Orchestra on Judy Garland’s multi-Grammy award-winning live album, Judy at Carnegie Hall.
He did extensive work as a studio musician both in and out of jazz, including a period as the drummer for the big band of the Merv Griffin Show. He recorded several albums with Carl Fontana for Concord Jazz in the mid-1970s and also played in Supersax. Later in his career, he did much work as a sideman for Concord. Hanna died on February 12, 2010, in Los Angeles, California of complications from a blood disease.
For everything he did for the jazz community, DelightFULL decided to pay tribute to him by having a family of lighting designs in different ways, shapes, and forms. In suspension, you have Hanna Ceiling, Hanna Pendant, and Hanna Chandelier, which, we just wrote an article about this last week, in the wall category, you have Hanna wall lamp and also Hanna floor lamp.
Hanna is a vintage lighting fixture that is elegantly made of brass. With gold plated and a matte white finish (inside and outside), each light has a bell-shaped shade fashioned from aluminum.
Liven up your home setting with this classic pendant light, that will suit superbly in a mid-century modern living room or dining room.
All in all, Hanna lamp, whatever is in suspension, wall or floor, has flowing lines and a sleek surface that mixed unusual-shaped arms create a unique vintage lighting design.
