If your curious, just stand by to learn it all about this project by Joseph Eichler!
Let’s start our Monday with some inspiration, shall we? After four years of renovating their Northern California house, Karen and John have a beautiful home where they can raise their family. While thinking of their dreamy house design, they wanted not just any mid-century modern home, but one that specifically designed by the one and only Joseph Eichler. Take a look at this beauty!
We fell in love with Eichler homes and mid-century modern design after seeing a nearby open house for a thoughtfully restored and renovated Eichler. We decided we wanted to live in an inspiring home like that one, as a place to raise our boys and entertain friends and family.
Karen says. Let’s go by house division, ok? There’s a lot to show you in just one home, so we’re taking baby steps here. First things first, let’s go for your favorite house part: the bedroom!
In the master bedroom, Karen and John took original mahogany panels with a unique design. The yarn wall hanging above the bed was a DIY project that is definitely on our wish-list. And do you know how you can recreate this one in your own home decor? Well, it’s actually pretty easy!
With Piazzolla wall lamp, it will be way easier to recreate this look. Piazzolla wall fixture is a pure 60’s stilnovo style that brings a retro touch to contemporary spaces. Featuring two aluminum cones, this wall light fixture offers light both from top and bottom lamp shades to provide a subtle glow. With a dynamic and versatile look that can be applied to any setting, Piazzolla wall lamp can be mounted horizontally or vertically.
Moving on to the living area. The living room is really what we call the mid-century dream. The lighting is simply one of our favorite details since it takes in light from all directions, including from the ceiling skylight. Of course, we also love the sputnik chandelier that provides a sophisticated touch to the room.
We have worked hard to bring back some architectural details that were once taken away from the house, such as glass windows and warm wood materials.
This quote was said by Karen. But how is it possible to bring this feeling inside your home decor? With the help of Cannonball. Cannonball light pendant is the perfect explosion of luxury. Inspired by the boldness of a cannonball, this pendant lamp came to reinvent what mid-century modern design is. With its unique shape, this exquisite lamp is handmade in brass and features a gold-plated finish, proof of some of the most high-quality craftsmanship in the lighting design world. Cannonball is a modern brass pendant lamp which will give an elegant and sophisticated touch to your mid-century modern living room.
In case you don’t know, the kitchen represents one of the most important parts of a house design. It’s a spot where you probably spend a lot of time, so it must be well decorated and lighten up. All about this kitchen design is simply amazing. Starting with the kitchen backsplash from Fireclay Tile until the mid-century pendant lighting above the counters. The emerald green bar stools mixed with the tiles add the ultimate pop of color to this space.
It’s pretty easy to ‘steal’ this look for you. Chose Hanna Pendant, and the problem is solved. Hanna is a vintage pendant lamp that features a glossy black shade outlined by a copper finish, giving it a lovely contrast. Elegantly made in brass by artisans who applied delicately an ancient technique called hand metal spinning, if you style the pendant lamp alongside a mid-century home decor it will provide your room a striking, elegant look. This lamp brings together a visually appealing aluminum bell lamp shade and a customizable versatility by way of finishes. This one light pendant provides abundant light while adding style.
Miles table lamp is a classic mid-century modern table lamp, which brings back the sophisticated atmosphere of the 50s. It is handmade in brass, with an aluminum shade. The body has a copper plated finish for a more contemporary look, while the shade is lacquered a matte black on the outside and a white matte on the inside. It is essentially a copper table lamp that casts a soft glaze that will suit your modern entryway in the most flattering way.
