Does the name Brubeck sounds familiar to you? Even if you don’t know the person, you probably heard this name. Our goal is to send this suspension lamp to the top of the lighting trends! Dave Brubeck is the inspiration for this piece of art.

David Warren Brubeck was born on December 6, 1920, and died on December 5, 2012. He was an American jazz pianist and composer, considered to be one of the foremost exponents of cool jazz.

He wrote a number of jazz standards, including “In Your Own Sweet Way” and “The Duke”. Brubeck’s style ranged from refined to bombastic, reflecting his mother’s attempts at classical training and his improvisational skills. His music is known for employing unusual time signatures, and superimposing contrasting rhythms, meters, and tonalities.

Throughout his career, Brubeck continued to experiment with interweaving cool jazz and classical music. He performed as composer-performer with most of the major orchestras in the United States and with prestigious choral groups and orchestras in Europe and America.

When citing some of the highlights of his career, Dave would always include the premiere of his composition “Upon This Rock” for Pope John Paul II’s visit to San Francisco and the performances of his mass “To Hope! A Celebration” in St. Stephan’s Cathedral in Vienna and in Moscow with the Russian National Orchestra and Orloff choir.

This amazing artist won several awards for his music and this composition, so it became a huge inspiration for DelightFULL. The mid-century modern brand wanted to incorporate Brubeck’s feels into one lamp, but they actually ended up incorporating his soul in 8 different lighting designs. After showing you a little bit of Dave’s life and how big of an inspiration he was and still is for so many people, we think you are ready to finally meet Brubeck Spiral.

This year, the DelightFULL theme at iSaloni 2018 is “A Spiral back in time“. This means, once you get into their stand, you are entering a whole other era- the mid-century era.

The exponential point in jazz is brought in style by Dave Brubeck, as we previously told you. One of the most enchanting mid-century modern chandeliers that DelightFULL has to offer to the world is a statement piece.
